Perfect Purple

6 May

The designers over at Ubuntu have decided to go for something a little different from the browns and oranges of recent distros and have opted for a a purple default theme. Personally after trying the latest release I think things are looking and feeling very good.

On top of the theme and color change they have gone for a slightly Mac like interface with the window controller in the top left corner rather than the MS Windows like top right. A change which I personally welcome ,however, it  may take a while to get used to if you rarely use Mac.

I also like the way they have been able to blend in the applications to the new themes such as in the picture below how it works for Firefox.

Well that’s all I’ve got to say about the interface and design of Ubuntu 10.04 the latest Long Term Support (LTS) disto available from the Ubuntu Linux Team.

I have to say, every time I come to you have another interesting post up to read. One of my friends was talking to me about this topic several weeks ago, so I think I will e-mail my friend the url here and see what they say.
